The situation is Artyomovsk (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine) is very difficult, with the Ukrainian army receiving "endless reserves," Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Sunday.

"The situation in Bakhmut is difficult, very difficult, with the enemy fighting for each meter. And the closer we are approaching the city center the fiercer fighting is growing, the more artillery and tank being used against us. Ukrainians keep on supplying endless reserves. But we are moving forward and will continue to move forward and we will not cover the glory of Russian arms with shame," his press service quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.

Artyomovsk is located in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Fierce fighting for control of the city is underway. According to the latest data, Russian forces have blocked or taken control of all paved roads to the city while the nascent spring mud season is complicating the logistics of supplying the Ukrainian army with fresh ammunition and personnel. Prigozhin said on Saturday that Russia forces were some 1.2 kilometers from the city’s administrative center.

Three civilians were killed and nine more, including children, were wounded in the city of Perevalks in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) as a result of shelling by Ukrainian troops, Vitaly Mikhailov, head of the Perevalsk district administration, said on Sunday.

"According to preliminary data, the shelling attack left three civilians dead. Six people were wounded and taken to a hospital, three of them are minors. Three more sought medical assistance in the outpatient department. In other words, three were killed and nine were wounded," he told TASS.

Mikhailov added that the strike was delivered at an area around the bus station, damaging nearby dwelling houses, two filling stations and civilian cars.

According to the LPR’s mission to the Joint Control and Coordination Center (JCCC) for issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes, Ukrainian troops fired a rocket from a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher at 13:10 Moscow time.

Russia's former president Dmitry Medvedev says that French influence in Africa, Asia, and Latin America is drastically declining as truly sovereign countries are not afraid of the dictates of the “collective West."

According to him, national interests outweigh sanctions opposition.

“The Central African Republic and Mali, without much ceremony, have already shown their French military contingents the door, and the government of Burkina Faso has generally decided to denounce the Military Assistance Treaty signed in 1961,” he posted on the social media platform VK. “The influence of the Fifth Republic in Asia, Africa and Latin America, like all other obese Western masters who have lost their vitality and social rhythm, is shrinking like ‘shagreen leather’ (a reference to French writer Honore de Balzac’s novel ‘The Magic Skin and The Wild Ass's Skin’).”

Apart from that, he noted that "the time has come for surgery to remove the malignant tumor of the colonial past."
